The Academy’s strategic plan sets the course for the organization and ultimately helps to shape the future of the profession while responding to the natural evolution of audiology. The plan is designed as a roadmap to keep the Academy focused on using time and resources wisely to accomplish goals. The Academy's priorities flow from this plan. All Academy goals, committee charges, and fiscal commitments are tied to the strategic plan. Thus, the true purpose of the plan is to enable the Academy to prioritize and address specific needs and issues that impact our mission, including reimbursement for services, marketing of the profession to the public, and advocacy. The Board of Directors also uses this strategic plan to develop agendas for Board meetings. This provides an ongoing review of the plan as it’s utilized and allows the Board to spend time wisely with energy and activities directed toward the goals.
