Congress has extended the 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule through December 31, 2011. Due to problems associated with the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula, all Medicare providers were facing a greater than 25 percent reduction in reimbursement beginning January 1, 2011. As a result of Congressional action, the cuts were averted.
