As a result of the recent NIDCD Working Group on Accessible and Affordable Hearing Health Care for Adults with Mild to Moderate Hearing Loss, the NIDCD has created three new funding opportunities which will be of interest to audiology researchers.

• NIDCD Research on Accessible and Affordable Hearing Health Care (R24)
• Accessible and Affordable Hearing Health Care (R21/R33)
• Development of Outcome Measures to Determine Success of Hearing Health Care (R01)

NEW NIH Funding Opportunity – Director’s Award Programs

Each year, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) makes grants to exceptionally creative scientists through the NIH Director’s Pioneer Award, New Innovator Award, and the Transformative Research Projects Award programs.

•  The 2011 Pioneer Award application period begins on August 13, 2010, and closes on September 13, 2010.
• The 2011 New Innovator Award application period begins on August 20, 2010, and ends on October 20, 2010.
• The 2011 Transformative Research Projects Award begins on September 27, 2010. and ends on October 27, 2010.
