eAudiology Web Seminars, CEUs, and More: Interview with Cornelia Gallow, Academy Professional Development Manager
Douglas L. Beck, AuD, speaks with Gallow about the Academy’s eAudiology unlimited on-demand Web seminar sale, annual CEUs, and more.
Academy: Hi, Cornelia. Thanks for sharing a few moments of your day with me.
Gallow: Hi, Doug. My pleasure—happy to do so.
Academy: Okay. Well, rather than our usual comprehensive chats, this interview will be brief and to the point. I was truly surprised when I saw the Academy is offering all the CEUs any audiologist could need for $89. Please tell me more about this?
Gallow: Sure. When an Academy member renews online anytime between now and December 31, 2010, he or she can purchase the eAudiology Unlimited On-demand Web Seminar Package for only $89. Registrants will gain access to the Web seminars now so they can earn CEUs during 2010 and 2011 by purchasing the package. They can register for any of the over 50 Web seminars in the eAudiology on-demand library for just $89.
Academy: And these Web seminars include courses on ethics, medical errors, and Tier 1 offerings—for states and organizations that require those specific topics?
Gallow: Exactly. And to get the specific titles and topics it’s easy. Just go to www.eaudiology.org and click on Web seminars.
Academy: And the upcoming live Web seminars will also be accessible through this Unlimited On-Demand CEU Package after they have been initially presented?
Gallow: Yes, that’s right. This package does not include live events, but the live events are recorded and are then offered as “on demand” within 24 hours.
Academy: Okay, great. I was honestly surprised at the depth and price of the Academy’s seminar offerings. I think many of our colleagues will be surprised, too!
Gallow: Yes, no doubt. The package was a success last year and we are glad we could offer it for the same low price again this year. I really do recommend the members take a careful look at what eAudiology has to offer. This year, we added 18 Web seminars to the on-demand library and plan on adding the same or more in 2011.
Academy: I agree. I am glad I signed up for this package when I renewed for 2011! And for people not familiar with the Academy’s eAudiology Web seminars, they’re audio-visual recordings of presentations, not just text files, is that right?
Gallow: Right. A Web seminar is more interactive with the addition of the presenter’s voice and visual presentation for the participant to follow along with.
Academy: Excellent. Okay then, as promised, brief and to the point. Thanks, Cornelia.
Gallow: Thanks, Doug. I appreciate you bringing this information to the attention of the members.
