Srikanta (Sri) Mishra, PhD, has studied audiology and hearing sciences at the University of Calcutta, University of Mysore (India), and University of Southampton (England). At Southampton, Mishra received his PhD under the mentorship of Professor Mark Lutman, and he recently completed his postdoctoral fellowship in auditory maturation and plasticity at the House Ear Institute (now known as House Research Institute) Development of Human Auditory Function Laboratory (funded by the NIH/NIDCD) in Los Angeles under the tutelage of Carolina Abdala, PhD. During his tenure at the House, he was also affiliated with the Infant Auditory Research Laboratory within the University of Southern California and Los Angeles County Medical Center. Mishra serves as a reviewer for several journals and holds a CCC in audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. His professional interests include pediatric audiology and novel amplification schemes, and he has received funding from the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, the A. Charles Holland Foundation, and several other external sources. Currently, Mishra is a Global Audiology Team member at Unitron Hearing Ltd., Kitchener, Canada, where he is involved in the research and development of hearing solutions that have a practical impact on the lives of hearing impaired individuals worldwide. On a personal note, Mishra acknowledges the support of his wife Moumita and their (little) son Ray for shaping his life.
