Academy Executive Committee Visits Legislators Offices

As part of the Hearing Industries Association’s (HIA) annual meeting, Academy President Lisa Christensen, AuD, Academy President-Elect Catherine Palmer, PhD, and Academy Past President Jackie Clark, PhD, visited Capitol Hill to discuss issues important to hearing health care and audiology.

During their day on Capitol Hill, the Academy’s executive committee met with the offices of Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), as well as the offices of Representatives Marc Veasey (D-TX) and Mike Doyle (D-PA). The group also had a sit-down discussion with Congressman Brendan Boyle (D-PA) to discuss the importance of hearing health care and the role of the audiologist in identifying and treating hearing loss and inner-ear disorders.
