American Academy of Audiology Joins FDA Network of Experts
The American Academy of Audiology is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership with the Food and Drug Administration to be part of its Network of Experts in support of work by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH).
The CDRH mission is to protect and promote the public health by assuring that patients and providers have access to safe, effective and high quality medical devices.
The FDA Network of Experts is a vetted group of scientists, clinicians and engineers outside of government who can provide a rapid response to CDRH requests for scientific, engineering and medical expertise. Given the rapidly growing variety and complexity of medical devices as well as emerging technologies, the Network is intended to broaden CDRH exposure to scientific viewpoints.
The Academy joins thirty five distinguished Network participants that include, for example, the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, American College of Nurse-Midwives, and the American Optometric Association.
This exciting new partnership will give the Academy the opportunity to share its expertise and experience with the FDA to advance initiatives important to patients and providers.
