De Wet Swanepoel, PhD, is professor in audiology, University of Pretoria, South Africa, and a visiting professor in Australia, Sweden, and the United States. His research capitalizes on connected technologies to explore, develop, and evaluate innovative solution and service delivery models to improve hearing care. He is also editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Audiology, past president of the International Society of Audiology, and co-founder of the hearX group.
