Technical competence alone is insufficient to achieve the highest levels of success. Emotional intelligence is essential for clinicians and leaders attempting to cope with an increasingly complex and fast-paced world. But, what is emotional intelligence? How does it apply to healthcare? And, how do we use it to improve performance?
This dynamic and interactive workshop teaches the eight habits of peak performers gleaned from research studies in healthcare and other industries. We know that when it comes to our health, small changes can have a major impact if they become a habit. The same is true for key leadership skills. This workshop will focus on how to use these skills to be a more effective clinician leader. Regardless of whether you have formal authority or not and no matter where you are in your career, you'll walk away with an action plan that takes your leadership skills to the next level.
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the four components of Emotional Intelligence; self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management
- Develop strategies to increase Emotional Intelligence personally, and in those you lead
- List four small changes you can make that will have a positive impact on your performance
