There will be a detailed summary of current New York State rules and regulations pertaining to hearing aid dispensing. This will include a summary of pending changes in federal versus New York State rules and regulations\, rules pertaining to HA registration\, pertinent issues for AuD students\, and registration renewal issues. \nIn addition the seminar will review required verbiage for audiograms\, New York State requirements for posting\, record-keeping and providing consumer information\, and hearing aid-related rules and requirements\, as well as a summary of relevant legislative issues. \nLearning Outcomes: \n1. Explain the renewal requirements\, including those for continuing education\, for those who must register as a hearing aid dispenser in the state of New York.\n2. Describe the requirements for giving hearing aid candidates a copy of their audiogram/hearing test and summarize the educational materials that should be provided to the consumer.\n3. Explain the requirement for a medical/ORL evaluation and clearance for the purchase of a hearing aid in New York state\, in light of pending federal regulations. \nView Event
