Academy Fellow and Past President Robert Glaser Receives Leadership Award
The Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (Board) announced that Robert G. Glaser, PhD, is the recipient of the 2016 Margaret M. Roberts Leadership Award. Dr. Glaser has been licensed to practice audiology since May 1977. In 1980, he established a private practice in the Dayton area under the name of Audiology & Speech Associates. The Board presents the Margaret M. Roberts Leadership Award annually to a licensed audiologist or speech-language pathologist who has been nominated for their significant contributions and leadership, which have benefited and promoted consumer protection in the field of communication science and disorders. The award is announced during the month of May to coincide with Better Hearing and Speech Month in the state of Ohio.
Dr. Glaser has served as president of the American Academy of Audiology, the Ohio Academy of Audiology and two terms as Chairman of the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. He has served on a number of hospital and community boards and has contributed articles to professional journals and book chapters on hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and dizziness assessment. He co-authored and edited a recently published textbook titled, Strategic Practice Management: A Patient Centric Approach. He obtained his BS in speech-language pathology and audiology from Bowling Green State University, his MA and PhD in audiology from Kent State University. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and has received the Honors of the Association from the Ohio Academy of Audiology and the Ohio Speech & Hearing Association.
