Join us in curating an annual convention program that amplifies the value of the profession.

The AAA 2027 Program Committee is proud to invite clinicians, researchers, and academic professionals from around the world to submit an abstract for presentation in St. Louis, Missouri this April.

The Call for Abstracts for the AAA Annual Convention 2027 will open Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Each year, the AAA Convention allows attendees to share insights, advance education, and drive the field of audiology forward into the future.  Whether attendees are discussing challenges and changes within the profession of audiology, best practices in their specialty or the profession's evolution, the AAA Convention provides a space to share the latest research and clinical practices and network amongst peers and like-minded individuals with a variety of experience.

The programmatic focus of this year's convention content is in the areas of practice management, leadership, and evidence-based clinical best practices.  All are welcome to submit presentations that showcase the latest innovations, strategies, and trends impacting audiology. Presentations are sought that will elevate the way hearing and balance health-care professionals practice and provide care to patients in the future.

Seeking Bold, Forward-Thinking Educational Content

The AAA Convention is dedicated to supporting audiologists and hearing health care professionals at every stage of their careers. For AAA 2027, we invite proposals that deliver advanced, forward-thinking content designed to optimize patient care, advance clinical practice, and prepare audiologists for the future. We especially encourage submissions that explore innovative, emerging, and creative topics, challenge conventional thinking, and introduce new ideas, technologies, and approaches that will shape the future of the profession. Stay tuned for more information about advanced content offerings in our Submission Guidelines - available soon!

How Can You Engage the Audience and Provide Impact Through Your AAA Session?

When preparing your presentation submission, the Program Committee encourages you to design your session to actively engage attendees rather than relying on a traditional lecture followed by Q&A. Research shows that attention declines after 10-15 minutes of passive listening, so plan for regular shifts in format throughout your presentation. Consider opening with a compelling question, surprising statistic, or real-world scenario instead of speaker introductions, and incorporate interactive elements such as live polls, brief "turn to your neighbor" discussions, small-group problem solving, audience brainstorming, or short exercises that allow participants to apply what they've learned. The most memorable sessions create opportunities for attendees to think, discuss, and participate, making the content more engaging, relevant, and actionable.  Proposals that reflect these content delivery best practices will distinguish themselves from other submissions.

Submission Areas of Interest

The Program Committee seeks presentation submissions showcasing state-of-the art science and clinical techniques while also providing diverse and compelling educational content rooted in the latest evidence-based practice. These sessions should be forward-thinking and remain focused on advancing and sharing developments in the profession of audiology.  The sessions should highlight innovative research, best practices, and practically applicable content with clear clinical takeaways.

All abstracts are peer-reviewed in a blind-review process. Acceptance of abstracts is based on the content of the submission, available space, and overall program balance.
