Learning Modules, Mini Modules, and Research Podiums

In addition to our invited featured sessions, grand rounds, and learning labs, we will present more than 100 submitted presentations, offering a comprehensive educational overview of the field.

Learning Modules (60 minutes)—These learner-focused, interactive sessions are designed to provide evidence-based information that attendees can immediately apply to clinical practice. Topics may span the full spectrum of audiology and hearing sciences, including diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, basic science, practice management, and related fields. Preference will be given to submissions that address emerging issues, innovative approaches, or new areas of interest within the profession.

Spotlight Sessions (30 minutes)—Formerly named “Mini Modules,” these advanced, in-depth sessions are designed as focused deep dives into timely clinical and professional topics and should not include introductory or foundational content. Presentations are evidence-based and provide practical information that participants can apply to clinical practice in areas such as diagnostic audiology, rehabilitation, basic science, practice management, or related fields. Each session will consist of a 20-minute presentation, with an additional 10 minutes of audience engagement, such as Q&A, case discussion, polling, or other interactive activities that reinforce learning and encourage application to practice.

Research Podiums (30 minutes)—These sessions provide an opportunity for professionals to present original research in the fields of audiology, balance, and hearing sciences. Presentations should consist of a 20-minute lecture followed by 10 minutes of audience Q&A.

Clinical Education Conversations: Student Experiences in Audiology

Coordinated by the Inclusive Engagement Committee

Thursday, April 8, 1:00-2:00 pm

This informal discussion session is designed for students to share and reflect on their experiences within clinical education settings. The conversation will provide students with an opportunity to openly discuss aspects of their clinical placements, including learning environments, supervision styles, challenges, and successes. The primary purpose of the session is to gather student perspectives to inform a future, more structured session focused on understanding clinical education experiences from both the student and preceptor viewpoints.  Participation in the session is limited to audiology students, externs, and recent graduates (within past year).

Discussion Forums

Thursday, April 23, 2:15–3:15 pm
Friday, April 24, 9:45–10:45 am, 3:00–4:00 pm

Guided by a session facilitator, each group will discuss approaches, share perspectives, and develop potential solutions before bringing key takeaways back to the larger audience.

Unlike traditional presentations, Discussion Forums are driven by audience participation and collective expertise, allowing the conversation and learning to evolve based on the experiences, ideas, and knowledge participants bring to the table.
