The Foundation supports lectures at the American Academy of Audiology annual conference on topics that are increasingly important in the audiology field and related disciplines. The annual Marion Downs Lecture in Pediatric Audiology, supported in part by the William Demant Foundation, explores contemporary topics in Pediatric Audiology.

The future is bright! The AAA Foundation congratulates these researchers, students, and SAA chapters who are helping shape the audiology field of tomorrow.

These awards are supported by gifts made to the AAA Foundation's Annual Fund and corporate philanthropic support to ensure that the resources are available to fund the academic efforts of future audiology professionals and researchers. Investigator Research Grant

The American Academy of Audiology and the American Academy of Audiology Foundation wish to support basic and applied research in hearing and balance. Such research will benefit persons with hearing loss and/or balance deficits by improving the ability of professionals in audiology to evaluate and manage hearing and balance disorders. The American Academy of Audiology Foundation and the American Academy of Audiology will make grants for research projects with duration of one year. Grants of up to $20,000 will be made based on the merit of the research project and application. Grants may be made for basic research or clinical/applied research.

Music and Hearing Research Grant

The purpose of this program is to support research that will shape best practices in audiology to benefit musicians and others in the music industry. Funded by the American Academy of Audiology Foundation and the generous funding of Dr. Michael Santucci, this program complements the Academy’s clinical consensus document Audiological Services for Musicians and Music Industry Personnel.

Student Summer Research Fellowship

To expose students who are interested in research or wishing to pursue a career in research to a stimulating research environment under the guidance of a mentor. The fellowship period lasts ten to twelve weeks, giving the grant recipient sufficient time in the mentor's lab to participate in ongoing research projects or to contribute substantially to a single project.

Student Research Forum

Graduate Students in audiology and recent audiology graduates are invited to submit proposals for presentation of their original research completed while a graduate student in audiology at the AAA annual conference. The American Academy of Audiology Foundation (AAAF) will award $1,000 to each of the four selected student presenters. This program is generously sponsored by Plural Publishing.

James and Susan Jerger Award for Excellence in Student Research

Each year, students display their research posters at the AAA Annual Conference, and the American Academy of Audiology Foundation grants awards to select students for their outstanding research.
