In its mission to support education, research, and public awareness, the AAA Foundation is proud to offer an array of student scholarship programs that recognize the best and brightest audiology students who show exceptional promise as clinical audiologists. These students represent the future of audiology, and the AAA Foundation is pleased to support their academic journeys.
The applications for three of the Foundation’s scholarship programs is coming up on May 31, 2021.
First, the Improving the Conversation Scholarship Program is a new program for the AAA Foundation and is generously sponsored by CapTel from T-Mobile. The program offers three $5,000 scholarships, and two of the scholarships (or up to $10,000) are designated for Black/African-American students. The other scholarship is available to all other students. CapTel from T-Mobile’s goal is to increase the diversity in the field of audiology, and it’s a goal that is shared by the Academy.
Next, the Empowering Students Scholarship Program has been generously sponsored by Oticon since 2011. This year, Oticon has decided to expand the program and offer more scholarships. Six $5,000 scholarships are available, and up to $20,000 of those funds are designated for Black/African-American students. Oticon also shares the Academy’s goal of supporting diversity in the field of Audiology.
And finally, the Jerry Northern Scholarship in Pediatric Audiology, sponsored by Dr. Jerry Northern, is awarded to students who show exceptional promise as clinical audiologists with a focus on pediatric audiology. This program offers three $10,000 scholarships, and each recipient will also receive a $500 stipend to attend the Academy’s annual conference to further enhance the educational experience.
Students are encouraged to send their applications by Monday, May 31, 2021. Not only is it beneficial financially, but being a prestigious scholarship recipient is a great addition to a resume for those entering the field.
