That’s a wrap on another busy day at AAA 2025. Our Opening General Session (sponsored by Starkey) kicked off with an inspiring message from Academy President Patricia Gaffney, AuD. Executive Director Patrick Gallagher, MBA, followed with an update on the future of the Academy and the field of audiology:
“Advancing an independent clinical specialty recognized as the experts in hearing and balance care remains the Academy’s core mission. The collective knowledge and skills of members committed to the concept, ‘of, by, and for audiology’ are powerful indeed.
By leveraging clinical evidence and practicing at the top of your scope, all while working within the Academy’s supportive community, we will ensure audiology is recognized for its full potential, while at the same time becoming the best version of ourselves.”
Nadene Cherry closed out the opening session with an impactful keynote address about the importance of taking a pause for success at work. She introduced her 3C formula for achieving inner peace and enhanced performance.
After Nadene’s keynote, attendees ventured to the HearTECH Expo for Industry Updates and more. Our Professional Headshot Studio (sponsored by ReSound) remained a popular attraction and will be open again today.
In the HearTECH Expo, attendees had a chance to unwind with some adorable puppies at Paws and Relax, sponsored by HearingLife. Thanks to Take Paws Rescue, a New Orleans foster-based rescue group, for teaming up with us to make this event possible.
After a long day of education, our Refreshment Break with Exhibitors in the HearTECH Expo, sponsored by Hear Billing Solutions, provided a much-needed chance to relax and network. Later in the evening, the Academy’s Political Action Committee (PAC) hosted a Voodoo Tour, where attendees walked the haunted streets of New Orleans while supporting our important advocacy work.
We ended the day with an unforgettable night of dancing and music at AAA’s Not-So-Secret After Party. Performer Eliza Sonnenschein put on a great show with her live band.
