Many audiologists enter the profession after years of rigorous academic training, yet receive little to no guidance on personal finance along the way. Once in the field, conversations about money can feel overwhelming, confusing, or taboo. This session, led by a financial therapist, offers a shame-free introduction to financial wellness. Attendees will explore how their emotions, values, and lived experiences influence their financial decisions, and how to begin building a healthier, more aligned relationship with money. Rather than focusing on restrictive budgets or prescriptive rules, this session prioritizes self-awareness and sustainable habits. You’ll leave with practical tools to help you feel more grounded and confident in your financial life, plus a high-level checklist of key financial topics to keep on your radar. Whether you're just starting out, mid-career, or navigating major life transitions, this session will help you take the first or next step toward greater financial ease.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain why traditional, literacy-only approaches to personal finance often fall short.
- Describe the relationship between emotions, values, and financial behavior.
- Identify their personal core values and evaluate how their financial choices align with those values.
- Gain insight into the four chemical needs they might seek through shopping or spending, and identify alternative swaps.
- Use a financial wellness checklist as a guide for ongoing reflection and action.

This workshop explores how storytelling can create meaningful emotional connections with your target audience—whether patients, colleagues, partners, managers, family, or friends. We will discuss why humans have always been drawn to stories and how narrative remains one of the most powerful tools for influencing decisions and inspiring action.
Participants will also learn to identify and refine their personal brand—clarifying who they are, what they stand for, and how to communicate that identity with clarity and authenticity. Through reflection and practical exercises, attendees will connect their self-understanding to more effective storytelling.
By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to use stories to advance professional goals, strengthen relationships, and amplify their impact both at work and at home.
