Happy Hour with a Purpose
Last night, American Academy of Audiology Foundation Happy Hour closed out the first day of AAA 2022+HearTECH Expo with a networking event with philanthropy at its heart. Academy Founder Jerry Northern, PhD, was in attendance to personally present scholarship award recipients with their stipend. The following fundraising activities, a designer handbag silent auction and a pledge drive, brought in more than $32,000. Foundation funds are directed to support research, education, and public awareness raising efforts.

Now and Later
Special thank you to our poster presenters who spoke to attendees in the poster hall today. Even with more than 100 posters in the hall, there wasn’t one presenter without a group of interested attendees; and no shortage of insightful questions to answer. The hall is open again tomorrow with presentations from 1:00–2:00 pm.
The six student recipients of the Empowering Students Scholarship Program, generously provided by Oticon, Inc., were presented with their awards today in the expo hall. This scholarship program provides $5,000 each to students who show exceptional promise as clinical audiologists.
For international attendees wanting to meet fellow long-distance travelers, link up at the international reception tonight at 8:30–9:30 pm in the Marriott Grand (across the street from the Convention Center) in the Crystal Ballroom Foyer.
