With 14 full tables packed with people (and coffee cups), the NEW “Coffee Talk” Roundtable Discussions were off to a great start. The room was alive with conversation guided by facilitators discussing how to run a successful practice; diversity, equity, and inclusion; auditory processing testing; cochlear implant candidacy; and so much more. This new format offered an informal networking opportunity to easily and comfortably chat, exchange ideas, and share challenges with experts and colleagues.
It’s Comprehensive
This morning, the Marion Downs Lecture in Pediatric Audiology (sponsored by the William Demant Foundation) covered Comprehensive Vestibular Care, presented by Violette Lavender, AuD, and Gretchen Mueller, DPT. Combining their more than 15 years of experience in pediatric vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, they discussed with attendees the importance of care from birth to adulthood.
We recognize Drs. Lavender and Mueller for their years of dedication to pediatric care and we are honored by their acceptance to present the Marion Downs Lecture.
Tomorrow morning from 8:30 to 10:30 am, step right up for another year at the Clinical Education Forum: Practice Management Essentials—A Student Model for Developing Audiology Practice (located in room 615—705 Pike). The transition from student to professional includes a preceptor experience all professional audiologists know and remember all too well, and the clinical education forum will cover how preceptors can assist students during this time of career transition. By developing a student model and case scenarios, attendees will be able to participate in an interactive session with takeaways they can use in clinical education. See you there!
