Pediatric Audiology Specialty Certification (PASC) Exam Update

  • ABA News

Of the 25 exam candidates who took the Spring 2026 PASC Exam in May, 20 of the 25 passed the exam and are now Board Certified in Pediatric Audiology® (BC-PA). The pass rate for those taking the exam for the first time was 82.6 percent and we now have over 200 board-certified pediatric audiologists across the US and beyond.

In the words of three of the recently credentialed:

“Achieving board certification reinforces my daily commitment to advancing specialized care for children and their families.”

Dustin Ooley, AuD, BC-PA
Columbia Regional Inclusive Services
Portland Public Schools
Portland, Oregon

“Earning the BC-PA credential means so much to me because I truly care about the children and families I serve. I want every family to feel confident knowing they are trusting someone who is not only specialized in pediatric audiology, but deeply committed to giving their child the best possible care. This accomplishment was also personal. I wanted to challenge myself, prove that I could do it, and honor how much this work and these families mean to me.”

Ashlynn Stephens, AuD, BC-PA
Dallas Ear Institute
Dallas, Texas

“Earning the BC-PA credential reflects my commitment to continually refining my knowledge and clinical skills to better serve children with hearing differences and their families through high-quality, evidence-based care. Pediatric audiology is a rapidly evolving specialty, and earning this certification reinforces my commitment to evidence-based practice, thoughtful clinical decision-making, and continually advancing my expertise. I hope it gives both my colleagues and the families I serve confidence in my commitment to compassionate, specialized pediatric care.”

Julia Swayne, AuD, BC-PA
Southcentral Foundation
Anchorage, Alaska

Applications for the Spring 2027 Exam can be submitted online any time before March 9, 2027.
