The American Academy of Audiology Board of Directors has approved the ABA’s proposal for a new Vestibular Audiology Specialty Certification (VASC). This certification will provide additional education and training, and an opportunity for audiologists specializing in the assessment and treatment of patients with vestibular dysfunction, dizziness, and imbalance to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise through becoming Board Certified in Vestibular Audiology.
The ABA is forming an advisory committee to develop a more detailed plan for implementing and sustaining this new certification program. The ABA is seeking subject matter experts in vestibular audiology to consider eligibility requirements, approve an exam blueprint, assist with exam content development, and develop a marketing plan for the new certification. If you are an audiologist specializing in vestibular assessment, please consider volunteering for this project by completing this 15-minute survey by Monday, September 9. For more information, please contact Andrew Stafford at 703-226-1056 or astafford@audiology.org.
