While we all look forward to a brighter new year, it is a good time to look back on the accomplishments of this challenging past year—your accomplishments. Even while COVID-19 turned everything on its head, so many of you looked for ways to expand and improve your practice through your commitment to continuing education and excellence in audiology.
One-hundred thirty-two of you completed the Certificate Holders–Tinnitus Management® program bringing the total to 268 with the CH-TM credential. Another 69 completed the Certificate Holder–Audiology Preceptor® program so that 562 have strengthened their precepting skills via the CH-AP credential. We welcome and congratulate eight pediatric audiologists who took the step–and passed the exam–to hold the Pediatric Audiology Specialty Certification® (PASC). As always, we are grateful to the over 1,200 of you who hold the ABA-Certified credential, demonstrating your dedication to continued professional development.
Coming up this spring, we look forward to another administration of the PASC exam at regional sites throughout the country; applications and registrations for the exam are currently being accepted. You’ll see elsewhere in the newsletter how tinnitus has become an even more important topic in this time of COVID-19. And for those of you who already hold the CH-AP, an updated module launch is planned for later this year—stay tuned!
What the ABA benefits from most is your input and involvement. I encourage you to share your expertise and enthusiasm for audiology by volunteering for the ABA Board. More information on how to get involved will be in the May newsletter.
Stay healthy!
