Certificate Programs/ ABA Charges

The American Board of Audiology (ABA) provides credentialing and certificate programs to any professionals who wish to add to their knowledge and expertise. The ABA Board of Directors is guided by the following initiatives to support their mission of elevating professional practice and advancing patient care.

  • Maintain rigorous credentialing programs to distinguish audiologists who meet established education and experience requirements, as well as audiologists who have demonstrated having requisite knowledge, skills, and competencies. The ABA will not create or dissolve certification programs without the authorization of the Academy board.
  • Create and maintain assessment-based certificate programs to offer audiologists instruction and non-degree training to acquire mastery of intended learning outcomes. The ABA will not create or dissolve certificate programs without the authorization of the Academy board.
  • Increase awareness of and recognition by audiologists and students of the importance of credentialing.
