On July 23, the Academy co-hosted a fundraising event for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). Organized by the Patients’ Access to Responsible Care Alliance (PARCA), the intimate breakfast event offered an opportunity for representatives of allied health organizations to meet directly with the leader.
Representative Jeffries offered remarks on the significant contributions of the Biden Administration, notably health-care reform efforts.
Additionally, he recognized the importance of allied health professionals in providing care and improving outcomes. Academy Executive Director Patrick Gallagher, MBA, represented the Academy’s Political Action Committee (PAC) at the event and had the opportunity to highlight for the House minority leader the significance of hearing and balance health care, as well as the three pillars of the Medicare Audiology Access Improvement Act (MAAIA).Â
