In 2008, the inaugural class of the Future Leaders of Audiology Conference (now the Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology Conference [JFLAC]) met in Reston, Virginia. The goal of this gathering was to provide leadership training and pass on Academy knowledge to a group of mid-career audiologists from across the country who have diverse backgrounds and work settings. At that time, the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) could not predict the impact that these and future attendees would have on the field, but they were hopeful. Several images from the JFLAC class of 2024 are shown in FIGURES 1, 2, 3, and 4. This article provides an overview of the attendees’ contributions, as well as their insights into how taking on committee work and leadership positions has enriched their lives while moving the profession forward.
