Bio

Laura Ann Wilber is a professor emerita of Audiology and Hearing Sciences in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University. She has been active in the creation of standards for amplification devices and audiometric equipment. For over 50 years, she has served as a United States representative for the International Standards Organization and she cochairs Working Group 35 of the American National Standards Institute. Wilber has published extensively in hearing journals and audiology textbooks. Her book published with Alan Feldman, Acoustic Impedance and Admittance: The Measurement of Middle Ear Function, was the first textbook on the topic. She served as president of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, and the American Auditory Society and is a founding member of the American Academy of Audiology.
