About Dr. Garcia

What are your clinical interests?

My clinical interests focus on tinnitus, vestibular disorders, and complex hearing cases, with a strong interest in how metabolic factors—such as energy metabolism and oxidative stress—impact auditory function

What do you/did you love the most about your job?

What I love most about my job is the ability to directly impact people’s quality of life. Hearing and balance are fundamental to how we connect with the world, and being able to help patients regain that connection is incredibly rewarding. Every case is different, which keeps the work both challenging and meaningful.

What company or organization do you work for right now? If you’re retired, where did you last work?

I currently practice in Paraguay across multiple clinical settings, including the Primer Instituto Auditivo del Paraguay and Fundación Tesãi, focusing on audiology and vestibular care.

What’s a project you’re working on right now? Why is it meaningful to you?

Right now, I’m working on a clinical research project exploring the metabolic influence on auditory fluctuations in a patient with Cogan Syndrome, particularly looking at glucose dynamics and inner ear function. This project is meaningful to me because it connects systemic physiology with auditory outcomes, potentially opening new ways to understand and manage complex hearing disorders.
