Introduction
Person-centered care (PCC) is an approach that places patients, their needs, preferences, and values at the core of their health-care delivery (Coulter & Oldham, 2016). A key principle of PCC is SDM, a collaborative process where clinicians and patients work together to make informed health-care decisions (Légaré et al., 2018). SDM recognizes that although clinicians contribute their expertise, patients contribute knowledge about their lived experiences, priorities, and goals. Through this partnership, patients feel empowered, and health-care decisions are more likely to reflect their personal values.
