Gift memberships are valid for the current membership year determined by the date of purchase. Membership renewals are due January 1. The recipient will be responsible for renewing their membership unless multiple membership years are purchased for the recipient.

You may purchase a gift membership for both new and returning members including membership renewals.

Q: Is the gift tax deductible?

Membership dues are generally not tax‑deductible as charitable contributions. For specific tax guidance, consult a tax professional.

If you chose to notify the recipient of the gifted membership yourself, you can do so using your own personal messaging or use the Academy’s standard gifting message template. Once the recipient is notified, the Academy will reach out to the recipient and provide instructions on activating their membership.
