Board of Directors Nominee: Jamie Bogle
Jamie M. Bogle, AuD, PhD, is a consultant and division chair of audiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona and is an assistant professor of audiology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She earned her AuD and PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder and was awarded the James and Martha Crawford Endowed Clinical Research Fellowship in Otolaryngology at Mayo Clinic Florida. Dr. Bogle was awarded the Journal of the American Academy of Audiology’s Editor Award in 2015 and the Academy’s Outstanding Early-Career Audiologist Award in 2018.
Clinically, Dr. Bogle focuses on evaluation and management of children and adults with dizziness due to central vestibular conditions, such as migraine and concussion. She was a founding member of a unique multidisciplinary team of neurologists, neuropsychologists, and audiologists focused on identification and management of sports-related concussion. Dr. Bogle has published numerous articles on the clinical presentation of central vestibular disorders and continues to advance understanding of these complex conditions.
She teaches vestibular courses for the University of Colorado at Boulder and Salus at Drexel University and holds academic appointments at Gallaudet University, Towson University, and Missouri State University. Additionally, she is a clinical preceptor for fourth-year externship trainees at Mayo Clinic Arizona and mentors doctoral student research projects from various universities.
Dr. Bogle has served the American Academy of Audiology for many years on various committees focused on research, publications, outreach, and political action. She served as a member-at-large for the Academy’s Board of Directors from 2020–2022. Currently, she is a co-vice chair for the Guidelines and Strategic Documents Committee, chair of the Academy Research Conference (ARC) Committee, and member of the Clinical and Scientific Excellent Council. She is the current primary investigator for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding mechanism that supports ARC.
Dr. Bogle also maintains memberships and relationships with organizations outside of the Academy. She served as a member-at-large (2017-2019), conference program chair (2017-2018), and President (2023) of the American Balance Society. She was elected as a member of the Bárány Society in 2018. Additionally, she serves as an associate editor for the American Journal of Audiology and is a reviewer for numerous journals.
