What are your clinical interests?

I am most interested in patients maximizing the use of their hearing aids by utilizing skills to complement the technology of the devices.

What do you/did you love the most about your job?

I really enjoy the opportunity to reach more people with the knowledge I am able to share online.

What’s a project you’re working on right now? Why is it meaningful to you?

I am adding to a library of online courses so hearing aid users can learn on their own time, at their own pace. There are so many people with hearing loss who aren’t using their devices to the fullest potential and not living their best lives due to their hearing loss. Topics range from what to expect when first receiving a hearing aid to setting up your home for hearing loss.

How has your career benefited from being a member of the Academy?

There are a ton of resources and information available on the Academy website.

Any tips or advice for new members on how to best leverage their Academy membership?

Use the tools available created for our field by those in our field.

Dry camping in West Virginia riding the Hatfield/McCoy trails on a UTV with my husband

Who is your hero, and why?

Chris Hughes, she was my deaf education teacher and she encouraged me to try so many different things.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

To fly, birds eye views of so many places would be incredible.
