What are your clinical interests?
Born deaf and fitted with cochlear implants at a young age, my personal journey has been the driving force behind my dedication to supporting individuals who have faced similar experiences. My goal is to make a positive impact on the d/Deaf and hard of hearing community by bridging the cultural gap between this community and the hearing world.
What do you/did you love the most about your job?
I love being able to personally connect with patients regarding experiences about types of hearing loss.
What company or organization do you work for right now? If you’re retired, where did you last work?
I am currently studying at Illinois State University for my doctorate in audiology.
What’s a project you’re working on right now? Why is it meaningful to you?
I am working with various geriatric patients regarding hearing aid fittings, checks, and selections. It is meaningful to me because this allows me to further my knowledge and passion about what it truly means to offer hearing to the people who need it most.
How has your career benefited from being a member of the Academy?
My career has benefited from being a member of the Academy because it opens many doors for many different opportunities and meeting people with similar interests.
Any tips or advice for new members on how to best leverage their Academy membership?
Don’t be afraid to network! We are all here because it is our passion.

If you could bring back one TV show that was canceled, which one would you bring back?
The one TV show that I would bring back is “1899” on Netflix.
What are you reading or listening to at the moment?
I am reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons.
Best vacation you’ve ever been on?
The best vacation that I have ever been on was in Washington D.C.
Who is your hero, and why?
My hero is Thor, because the title “god of thunder” has such a nice ring to it.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have any superpower, it would be telekinesis because mind over matter is such a truly fascinating concept.
