The American Academy of Audiology was founded in January 1988 and is the world’s largest professional organization of, by and for audiologists. Representing the interests of audiologists and audiology students nationwide, the Academy is dedicated to providing quality hearing-care services through professional development, education, research, and increased public awareness of hearing and balance disorders. The American Academy of Audiology promotes quality hearing and balance care by advancing the profession of audiology.
Only official accounts created and managed by Academy staff under the provision of the Academy Executive Director and Board of Directors, shall utilize Academy logos and official imagery. Any other Academy-affiliated groups or non-affiliated state Academy organization pages must use their own images to not breach Academy copyright.
The Academy asks that followers of any of our official pages (or affiliated groups) not post any negative, offensive, denigrating, and/or completely out of context content, pictures, or videos that could be regarded as spam. Any post may be removed at the discretion of Academy Board of Directors and senior leadership staff.
When referencing, tagging, or linking to any Academy-related social media platform, avoid using statements, photos, video, or audio that could be viewed as malicious, obscene, threatening, intimidating, or that might constitute harassment or bullying, or as an endorsement of a particular product or service.
Examples of this type of conduct include offensive posts meant to intentionally harm someone’s reputation, contribute to the degradation based on race, color, religion, sex/gender (including pregnancy), gender identity and expression, national origin, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship status, Veteran status, or any other classification protected by applicable law, rules, or regulations. The Academy is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and welcoming professional environment and reserves the right to remove any posts considered to be hate speech and block users from official pages.
Member Posting
Followers and Academy members are encouraged to engage with any Academy content or use our social media tools on their pages to raise awareness about audiology during public events or recognition months. This includes May Is Better Hearing Month, National Audiology Awareness Month, Balance Awareness Week, World Hearing Day, and more. Access our Public Awareness pages for more below.
The Academy requests that followers not post any of our logos due to trademark and copyright concerns. Academy Fellows are welcome to promote the profession and affiliation with our organization through the Academy Fellow logo, which can be added to social media, stationery, business cards, and more.
