By Brittany Seiffert This article is a part of the November/December, Volume 34, Number 6, Audiology Today issue. In 2019, the Academy’s Health-Care Relations (HCR) Committee launched the Outreach Grant Program to support members’ development of and participation in outreach to other health-care-related providers. The committee applied to the American Academy of Audiology Foundation (AAAF) for funding to support a program that would advance the Academy’s focus of outreach to referring providers. The AAAF provided funding for grants of up to $1,000 to support member projects for outreach at the community level. Through a competitive application process, the HCR Committee solicited projects from Academy members. Selected projects had measurable goals, clearly defined activities, detailed outcome measures, and an evaluation of their impact on outreach to referring providers. The committee had sufficient funding for two cycles of the grant program. From the period of 2019–2021, the HCR Committee awarded grants for three projects that reached completion.
