The 2020 American Academy of Audiology (Academy) Member Connect Survey focused on obtaining data from the membership in the following areas: demographic data, verification of amplification, tele-audiology, cochlear implant candidacy identification, and inclusion/equity.
The Member Connect Subcommittee has authored two articles to date relaying the results of the survey: An introductory article describing the methods used to create and distribute the survey, as well as a summary of the demographic data obtained1 and an article outlining the use of real-ear probe microphone measurements. This is the third article from the survey results.
The goal of this article is to discuss the data collected from the Academy membership related to the use and opinions regarding telehealth. This article will also explore trends and opinions regarding telehealth from other allied healthcare surveys. The survey was designed to produce actionable next steps for the Academy to support best practices in our profession. We are planning to develop articles detailing the results related cochlear implant candidacy evaluation and inclusion/equity.
