We are pleased to announce that the American Medical Association (AMA) CPT Editorial Panel has accepted the addition of two new Category I CPT codes to report rotational vestibular assessment procedures. As part of this action, CPT code 92546 has been deleted, effective January 1, 2027.
These new codes reflect advancements in vestibular diagnostics and support more accurate reporting of clinical services. With the CPT approval, we are now beginning the AMA RVS Update Committee (RUC) survey process to develop recommendations for clinical work and practice expense valuation.
The Academy’s input is vital to ensure accurate valuation of these services. If you receive the RUC survey, please complete it thoroughly and on time. Your clinical insight—comparing the new codes to procedures you perform—is essential. Please watch your inbox, and if selected, take a few minutes to contribute to this important effort.
You may review a brief educational video before you begin if you are unfamiliar with an AMA RUC Survey.
