Brian Earl, PhD, is an audiologist and associate professor at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Earl is a long-time member of the American Academy of Audiology and has more than 20 years of experience working with adults and children with hearing impairment. Dr. Earl earned his master’s degree in audiology at the University of Arizona (2003) and then worked as a clinical audiologist at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston from 2003 to 2006. He then completed his PhD at the University of Kansas (2006–2010) where he also completed a postdoctoral fellowship (2010–2012). Dr. Earl’s areas of research include electrophysiology, biotherapies for cholesteatoma, noise exposure, outside-the-booth diagnostics, and tele-audiology.
Throughout his PhD training and his current academic role, Dr. Earl has maintained his clinical licensure. He cherishes the time he has spent with students during regional and international audiology outreach efforts. Those now-graduated students have become trusted colleagues and friends. Dr. Earl also treasures the associations with his academic mentors as well as those mentors who continue to guide him in his current professor role.
