About Mr. Sadali

What are your clinical interests?

My clinical interests include tinnitus, sound tolerance disorders, and psychologically informed practice in audiology, particularly how cognitive and behavioral principles can be integrated into routine audiologic care.

What company or organization do you work for right now? If you’re retired, where did you last work?

As a registered audiologist under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, I am now pursuing my PhD in Hearing and Speech full-time at the Centre for Healthy Ageing and Wellness (H-CARE), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

What do you/did you love the most about your job?

I love supporting patients in understanding and managing their tinnitus through sound strategies and psychologically informed audiology approaches that help them regain confidence in daily life. I especially enjoy seeing them smile by the end of several sessions, knowing how overwhelming their tinnitus felt during those first visits.

What’s a project you’re working on right now? Why is it meaningful to you?

I am leading a cultural adaptation and feasibility evaluation of a UK-developed, psychologically informed, audiologist-delivered tinnitus intervention. This work is meaningful because it advances psychologically informed practice in audiology within a culturally diverse healthcare setting in Malaysia.

How has your career benefited from being a member of the Academy?

My career has especially benefited from the Academy in attaining my very first professional certificate, the Certificate Holder in Tinnitus Management (CH-TM), as the support and access provided through the membership have facilitated the process. Beyond that, the Academy has broadened my access to high-quality educational resources, international networking, and ongoing professional development that supports my growing interest in psychologically informed tinnitus management.

Any tips or advice for new members on how to best leverage their Academy membership?

Stay engaged with the Academy’s educational content, explore credentialing and specialty development early, and take advantage of opportunities to connect with the global audiology community—these experiences can significantly enrich professional growth.
