Description:

At Boston Children’s Hospital, the audiology team is working to integrate cortical auditory evoked potentials (CAEPs) into pediatric care to enhance decision-making from ABR to behavioral measures. This effort seeks to improve guidance for infants, children with developmental delays, auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD), as well as help guide our Hearing Aid and Cochlear Implant teams. Despite literature support, CAEPs in pediatric audiology pose application challenges, with clinicians often self-learning techniques. The presentation outlines the team’s journey to bridge research and practice, focusing on learning curves, logistics, and collaboration. It aims to provide providers with practical insights to enhance early childhood auditory care.
