Legislation that would reauthorize the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program through 2026 has cleared both the House and Senate. President Biden is expected to sign this legislation before years end.
This program and associated federal funding supports statewide EHDI programs across the United States that are charged with identifying children with hearing loss and directing them to early intervention services.
