In the Academy’s last survey of members, we heard from a fair number that they did not feel a strong connection to the Academy. This video is just one avenue to strengthening that connection with you, the Academy member.
I am Patrick Gallagher, the executive director of the American Academy of Audiology, and as I discussed in my previous video, strengthening member engagement and growing membership is one of the Academy’s strategic objectives.
There are several ways for members to engage with the Academy. The easiest is to keep in touch through social media and follow the Academy’s posts, and make sure you are receiving the weekly newsletter, Audiology Weekly.
When there is a call to action, share on your own social media posts. If you want to know what the Boad is discussing members can now read Board meeting summaries (located on the website at the end of the page and in the Audiology Weekly enewsletter).
One of the best ways to not only engage, but to recharge is by joining your colleagues at the Academy’s Annual Conference next year, April 17-20, in Atlanta. It is an opportunity to join thousands of audiologists to learn about the latest in audiology, but it is also an opportunity to strengthening your connection to the profession.
There is only one meeting where these audiologists from all practice settings and specialties come together and we are planning new opportunities to network and discuss challenges and opportunities you may be experiencing. I have always been impressed with how audiologists are always willing to share their knowledge with colleagues.
These are just a few ways to engage, but I want to hear from you. Please take a minute, and it only will take a minute, and complete a brief email survey that will be sent to you this afternoon, November 15, 2023.
Thanks for your Academy membership—now is the time to renew with a great incentive for our conference…renew online and before December 1, and receive $25 off of your AAA 2024+HearTECH Expo registration.
See you next time!
