Chair: Colleen Le Prell, PhD
Co-Chair: Gayla Poling, PhDARC 2023 will be held in digital format to accommodate presenters and attendees from all over the world.
The fields of audiology and hearing science are vastly advancing. Nearly a quarter of Americans older than 12 years of age are estimated to have some degree of hearing loss. As most older adults will experience hearing loss, inner-ear regeneration and cell therapies would significantly expand remediation options beyond amplification devices alone.
Research indicates that inner-ear protective and regenerative therapies are promising and could lead to significant changes in audiological management. Multiple therapeutics are currently under evaluation in animal models and human clinical trials, with the potential for new medicines thus on the horizon.
This virtual conference aims to describe the current state of these therapies and provide future expectations for clinicians providing hearing-related services.
