Telephones and Hearing Loss
By Jamie Bogle
In recognition of May Is Better Hearing Month … take time to take care of yourself.
Your hearing and balance care are important to your overall well-being and can affect your ability to communicate and stay connected with family, friends, and loved ones.
Using the telephone is hard for people with hearing loss, but there are many options to help!
Amplified telephones, telephones with captions, or video messaging services are useful with or without hearing aids. For those with hearing aids, there are programs or settings that can help you hear your best on the telephone—some devices even connect your phone directly to your hearing aids! Your audiologist can help you decide which technologies may help you.
