About Dr. Morris

What are your clinical interests?
I’m passionate about hearing aid technology, patient empowerment, and building systems that make hearing care more accessible—especially through remote support and practical tools that lighten the load for busy clinics.

What do you/did you love the most about your job?

I love helping families and individuals feel more confident managing their hearing health—especially when it comes to understanding and using their devices. After seeing the same troubleshooting needs come up repeatedly in clinic, I felt compelled to create a scalable solution that extends meaningful support beyond appointments.

What company or organization do you work for right now? If you’re retired, where did you last work?
I currently work at a pediatric hospital in Indianapolis and recently co-founded Soundly Supported, an AI-based platform that provides 24/7 hearing aid troubleshooting and guidance to support patients between visits.

What’s a project you’re working on right now? Why is it meaningful to you?

With Soundly Supported, we’re developing an AI-driven platform that provides around-the-clock guidance for hearing aid users—addressing issues like Bluetooth connectivity, wax filter changes, and more. It’s meaningful because it helps clinics preserve valuable appointment time while still ensuring patients feel supported and capable.

How has your career benefited from being a member of the Academy?
Even in a relatively short time as a member, the Academy has connected me with a network of thoughtful, forward-looking professionals and provided educational resources that have shaped both my clinical practice and my vision for improving access to care.

Any tips or advice for new members on how to best leverage their Academy membership?

Get involved and stay curious—some of the best ideas come from listening to the real challenges audiologists face across different settings. There’s a lot of power in sharing and learning from each other.
