As the editor-in-chief of Audiology Today, the Academy’s award-winning magazine, I’ve been privileged to work with incredible authors from the field of audiology and beyond. Through their contributions to Audiology Today, I’ve gained valuable insight into clinical practice, business management, patient counseling, management of auditory and related disorders, and critical issues facing our profession. This role has also enabled me to build a strong network of some of the most dedicated and inspiring hearing-health-care professionals in the world.

In addition to my role with the Academy, I serve as professor and department chair in the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at the University of North Texas (UNT), where I have been a faculty member since 2005. My research programs on the assessment and (re)habilitation of adults and children with hearing loss and auditory disorders have produced over 100 publications and 150 presentations. Through my work at UNT, I’ve enjoyed teaching and mentoring the next generation of audiologists. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing our alumni making a meaningful impact in the field of audiology by providing the highest quality hearing-health-care to patients and their families.
