President-Elect Nominee
Steve Madix, PhD, is a private practice clinical audiologist in Louisiana with 29 years of audiological experience. He received his PhD in speech and hearing science from the University of Tennessee and his master’s of audiology from Louisiana Tech University. Prior to private clinical practice, he was a tenured faculty member for 17 years at Louisiana Tech University where he taught various academic courses and was a clinical preceptor and residency coordinator. He currently holds adjunct teaching positions at Caldwell University in New Jersey and the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He is a veteran of the Louisiana Army National Guard where he served for six years and was honorably discharged.
Dr. Madix is a 2014 Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology Conference (JFLAC) graduate. He is the founding president and current executive director of the Louisiana Academy of Audiology which he chartered in 2012. He has been a member-at-large for the Academy Board of Directors, chair of the Student Academy of Audiology Advisory Committee (SAAC) and national Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) advisor. In addition, he has served on numerous committees, task forces, and working groups both as a chair and member. He has served as a site visitor and council member for the Council on Academic Accreditation for Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. He is currently an American of Academy of Audiology Foundation board member.
