A patient can have a medical emergency at any time, in any location. As a healthcare provider, it’s your responsibility—and your staff’s responsibility—to have an emergency action plan in place for such an event. This program will review the possible medical emergencies that could be encountered in an audiology practice based on a recent survey by the author. Recommendations are made to expedite care for each emergency before first responders arrive. A list of emergency equipment to have on hand is also presented.
