In 2016, the ABA added certificate training programs to our portfolio of services to further advance the careers of those who support audiology practice and education. We launched the Certificate Holder in Audiology Preceptor (CH-AP) training program in the fall of 2016 to promote highly qualified preceptors to prepare future audiologists, and at the end of the year had 83 individuals who completed the program and obtained the certificate. We also started the work of developing the Certificate Holder in Tinnitus Management program to offer audiologists the breadth of knowledge for successful management of patients with tinnitus. Stop by the ABA Lounge or Academy Central at the conference to learn more about both certificate programs, or check out our website.

Throughout the year, the ABA Board of Governors is working on behalf of audiologists to provide quality certification services for the profession. We take our commitment seriously to ensure examinations and all of our certification and related services meet national standards and are useful for the profession.

AudiologyNOW! offers us the chance each year to meet in person with those who use ABA services and those who are considering how the credentials and programs we offer can be beneficial. We look forward to seeing you at one of our events described above and to enjoying the AudiologyNOW! experience with you.
