The Academy joined with a large coalition of physician and non-physician providers to urge Congressional leaders to act before years end to prevent Medicare payment cuts expected January 1, 2023.
This letter urges Congress to eliminate the entire expected 4.5 percent reduction to Medicare payment rates and specifically cites the inflationary pressures the current economic climate is imposing on a myriad of practices across all affected provider types. The letter also highlights the fact that the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule is the only payment system within Medicare without an annual inflationary update.
