At the end of 2023, the FDA announced the creation of a digital health advisory committee, which will help the agency better understand the risks and benefits of emerging health care technology such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
This Advisory Committee will advise the FDA on a wide range of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, virtual reality, or wearables; and issues such as decentralized clinical trials, patient generated health data, or cybersecurity.
